Child safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of every young person in our group comes first, in everything we do.

Our commitment

74th Cork Frankfield is a member group of Scouting Ireland. We follow Scouting Ireland’s Child Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Procedures, which are in line with the Children First Act 2015.

What that means in practice

  • Every adult volunteer is vetted before working with young people.
  • Our leaders complete Scouting Ireland’s safeguarding training.
  • Meetings and activities are supervised in line with Scouting Ireland’s adult to youth ratios.
  • Leaders follow Scouting Ireland’s code of good practice.
  • Photos of young people are only shared with parental consent.

If you have a concern

You can speak to any leader, or to our Group Leader, at any time. You can also go straight to Scouting Ireland’s Safeguarding Team, who handle all concerns about the welfare of a young person in scouting. You may also contact Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, directly.

Please don’t use the contact form on this website to report a safeguarding concern. Use the contacts on this page so it reaches the right people quickly.

A child is in immediate danger

Call An Garda Síochána on 999 or 112 first, then report to the Safeguarding Team as soon as possible.
