Last Sunday, 25 of our Macaoimh took part in the annual County Hike in Kilcully, as part of the Macaoimh Cup competition. Having marked out our site, we got stuck into bamboo pioneering, playing games and having fun. There were a number of challenges organized, such as shelter building and a giant maze – all of which required teamwork and skill. Lunch included expertly cooked hotdogs on an open fire and each Macaoimh prepared their desert of sliced apple, sultanas and brown sugar ( Frankfield Apfelstrudel !! ) wrapped in foil and cooked in the fire. For the record, a total of 64 sausages were scoffed.
Despite a water supply problem on the day, some of our Macaoimh managed to get completely soaked in the water pistol fight. You can’t bate a good skuttering gun !
